Dear User! We are pleased to present the new PSSKB platform. It's purpose is integration of knowledge about the protein.
Our team has accumulated more practical experience in the field of omics sciences, which prompted us to create and develop the PSSKB platform. Issues of integrating the existing knowledge of proteins and new knowledge acquired with advances in pathology (i.e., aberrant forms of proteins as well as DEPs), issues of integrating candidate markers of protein origin into signaling pathways (PPI), and issues of changes in protein function due to epigenetic (PTM) and genetic (SNP) alterations require understanding of protein structure and boundaries of “normality” in the content of various changes according to the paradigm of structural biology.
The problems of interpreting the results of "raw" experiments, primarily mass spectrometric data, prompted us to consider the importance of creating and popularizing the tools and services of structural biology.
We have initiated the PSSKB project focused on creating diversified services on a unified platform for conducting experiments using structural biology tools:
- searching and identifying similar protein structures,
- mapping structural motifs,
- annotating protein structures,
- performing molecular dynamics calculations on intact structures and proteins with PTM/amino acid substitution.
Our platform is built primarily for biochemists and molecular biologists and does not require special skills and knowledge to perform research. It is also expected to be useful for students specializing in biomedicine. All calculations are performed on the basis of the PSSKB platform
